Mad rush...

Well today has been busy indeed!

This evening we are hosting our bible study in our home. And my house was in need of some loving care...

So I put the little guy to sleep and set about cleaning. My kitchen hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite awhile. I cleaned it top to bottom till it was sparkling! Started some brownies for this evenings dessert to go with coffee and set about to declutter some other areas of the house.

I got alot done before I came across this little cute guy just wanting to be paid attention to! I LOVE IT! He is such a sweet darling and I could just play with him all day! He was in such a good mood when he woke up and he laughed and laughed at crazy mommy!

Don't ya just wanna eat him up!

After play time I put him on the ground on his tummy and set about folding a couch full of clean clothes... lots and lots of it. In the middle of all the folding I got a call from my husband that someone was coming in a few mins to come look at our house! YICKES! I was in PJS still (hey who wants to get all sweaty cleaning in nice clothes! LOL) and had laundry all over and had other things I needed to pick up... So I set about like a crazy woman getting everything ready for them to come look at the house.

And here I sit waiting for them to show up and my house is sparkling clean... well I kinda need to vacuum and mop still but other than that I am done cleaning! What might of takin me the rest of the day to get ready for this evenings bible study is done in a flash! LOL Kinda cracks me up how something can take such little time when ya just get it done! :-D

My house smells like a fresh burning candle, brownies, and clean clean clean!!!

Now once they have come and gone I can just play the rest of the day with my little guy!!!!! So fun!

UPDATE:
Mad rush was not needed... no show on the house showing cuase they saw and liked another house.. oh well! My house is clean! Share

It's over?

Christmas is over... so sad! :-) Time sure flew by this year and its about to be a new year. CAN you BELIEVE that!

I usually don't get my Christmas tree down for a good week or so after the new year but this year I figured I would take the help to get it down whenever! :-D And with the guy coming to install our Christmas gift this week I needed to maybe get the way behind the Entertainment center unblocked for him. So Rach and Kadi came over and helped me take all the ornaments off and pack them up for next year. I still need to take the tree down but that's coming down in the next few days to. Just need the energy to! :-D

My collection of Willowtrees is growing. I LOVE them! I got the prego girl for Christmas!

Well off for a nap and maybe folding some laundry! Share

Pot Pies and other things...

Yesterday my Internet was down for most of the day so it made for a great day to get caught up on things from the holiday weekend and do some baking from all the leftovers.

I made a huge list of things that needed to be done but I took my time and slowly worked thru it. Taking naps in between cleaning! :-D But I managed to get most of it done without overdoing it. Which is what I seem to do... overdo it!

After I got some things done I got to baking pot pies from leftover turkey from thanksgiving. I had mentioned that I was thinking of making the leftovers into pot pies to my husband and he was so super excited and told me about his mom making them one year and how they were so good... So I made him 3 pot pies and froze 2 of them for later and cooked one of them last night. When I got up this morning and packed him the rest of the pie for lunch I realized he ate 3/4 ths of it last night!!! Was a hit for sure. :-D

So today I'm taking it easy and doing some coupon stuff for tomorrow and folding the rest of the laundry.... and pulling a frozen meal that I made awhile back out of the freezer for dinner! Nice for sure! Share

It's so COOL!

Why does it seem over the weekend that the laundry piles up to wash... Monday I get it all washed and then Tuesday its a mountain to fold. Seems the never ending story. :-)

It has been SOOOO beautiful out side the last few days. I just had to go play in the dirt yesterday it was so pretty! I had a plan that was about dead that I was surprised it lasted all summer long in the FIRST place! It was just a flower plant that I had bought at walmart around spring time. :-) It kept blooming and blooming. But it died with the first hint of coolness. So I replanted some other plants I had that were out growing there pots! It was fun to play in the dirt and was so nice and cool out! Now they are all nice and pretty once again. And hopefully they will survive in the winter. Must remember to bring them in once it freezes!

So, today I have to tackle that laundry and maybe some knitting! Its so nice and cool makes you want to start a few more knitting projects! Share

Tackle IT!

Yesterday I did a major overhaul!

I got all the rest of the extra items that where in one of our spare bedrooms out and sold at the yard sale we had this last weekend!

We did SO great at this last yard sale! It was awesome. We worked hard and got the garage of Nina's cleaned out and WOW there is a ton of space in there! Between the 6 of us who had stuff to sell we made a WOOPIN $1400.00!!!! Can you BELIEVE THAT! We were very happy with the results of the weekend. Very tired and sore for SURE, but happy.

Since I got all that out of one of my spare rooms I was in the organizing mode. I got out all the winter clothes I had stored up and got them put away to use HOPEFULLY soon. And in the midst of that I had opened up my hope chest and got out all my baby clothes (from when I was a baby) and blankets and all that such and put them all in those handy vacuum bags that I picked up months ago free from Walgreen's sales. They worked AWESOME in condensing and getting things sealed all up so they will stay in great condition! I was able to put them all in one tote along with a few other things I was putting in those bags! And I got out the rest of totes of pics I had and put them all in the chest. It made 2 of my spare clothes seem VERY empty once I was done! Amazing what those vacuum bags can do! I had a huge petticoat from my wedding up in a bag and I got it into a tiny little bag! It was great!

Once I got all that done I put everything away in the closets, vacuumed, and cleaned now the rooms are all back to how I want them! :-D A lot of work but well worth it once I was all done!!!

Organization ~ Ain't for the weak of heart....

Today I got up and running my Grocery Tracking Spreadsheet so I'm super excited about that! I have had so many people ask me how I keep so detailed tracking information on what I spend at each store and such! Well now you have it!

Tomorrow morning I need to get up bright and early to get dinner started in the crock pot and get ready to go to my husbands grandma's house. We are having another Yard Sale this weekend so its time again to clean more things out for it! Yah!!! We have ALOT to do but its right up my ally of decluttering and getting rid of stuff... yes, if you know me very well you know that I don't like clutter AT ALL! lol :-D Hey, cause um yah then I would have to clean it! And we would NOT want to do that. I'm all for having less to clean.

This comic cracked me up! LOL

So, I will be off for a day full of sweating, going thru boxes, finding interesting items of old, and good fun with my momnlaw and grandmanlaw! :-D Yippee!

Oye! See I drool over organization pictures like these! :-D

Tackle It Tuesday!

It's only 1:30 and I have gotten almost EVERYTHING done on my list to do today! I'm shocked at myself! hehe But I was up earlier and decided to go at it all and get it done with, and I am happy I did because now I have the rest of the day to do other things!

My kitchen is super clean and the floors are vacuumed and mopped. It feels GOOD! The only thing I need to do is fold a pile of laundry and put it away and I'm DONE!

Started my hubby's fav dinner!
Chicken and Smoked Sausage Gumbo over Rice!

Its really easy to make and its REALLY GOOD!

Make a dark brown roux of 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup Olive Oil and 1 cup flour
Cook for a good 20 mins on med-high till a dark brown

Add in 1 onion diced and 1/2 stalk of celery diced and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and
1/4 teaspoon cayenne ( I add more cause we like SPICE) a dash of pepper and a
dash of cumin (I like cumin in mine!)

Cook for 3-5 mins and then add in a can of chicken broth and about 2-3 cups of water

In Crock pot or Big pot on stove add in 2 links cut up of Smoked Sausage and 1 chicken breast with 8-10 cups of water. Add in your Roux when your done cooking it.

Cook for several hours and your chicken will fall apart and serve over White rice!

VERY GOOD!

Recovering from a long week and a half

What a whirlwind it has been the last week and a half!

We had my husbands cousin and her family staying with us for a week, my sister came in from out of town with her little kiddo, we had a family BBQ, a friend had a baby, my husband's cousin sisnlaw also had a baby, and boy oh boy have I been BUSY! And I came down with a horrid cold that has hit me pretty hard!

Everything has been very fast paced and seems like it flew by WAY TO FAST! Specially the time I had with my sister and her kiddo. :-(

But I'm recovering from everything and today I tackled a huge project of bags and boxes of stuff that has once again piled into my back bedroom of our house for a yard sale a my husbands grandma's house. I got it all done to! I sorted, piled, put my initial on all my stuff, and all the great stuff that involves yard sales! But I got it done! I still need to go thru a few things to get ready for next weekends yard sale but I am ALMOST THERE! Then my sisnlaw Rach is coming over sometime in the next week and bringing her stuff so we can price everything! Fun Fun!

Having a yard sale can be alot of work but it has always paid off for me that is for sure! I walk away with about $200-$350 from mostly stockpile stuff! Pretty awesome for storing a few boxes full of things from my shopping trips that I get for free!

Don't forget to sign up for a giveaway I have going right now for Starbucks!!!!!

We have house guests till the end of the week and my sis comes in and will be out to see me Friday and then we have a BBQ for her on Sat!

And need to tackle ants ONCE again! Seems they have come back and with kiddos here they have a few things that they can eat. :-)

And on top of that my hubs went on a business trip for a few days! :-( I will miss my hubby!!!!

And its a WOPPIN 72 degrees today and the breeze coming in is WONDERFUL! The last two days we have had the windows open all day because of the breeze we have had! Its been awesome! Feels like Fall!!!! I love it! Share

Cooking ahead!

This morning I had some ground beef I needed to cook up and use before I forgot about it. lol
So I split in half and cooked the first part with all the seasonings for spaghetti and then the other part I just added normal seasoning so I could use it for anything. I got 4 meals out of it! Pretty cool, now all I have to do it pull it out and add to whatever I am making. I have thought in the past about doing it that way but I never would want to season past the normal salt, pepper, garlic, and onions because I am always fidgeting with our menu! LOL But this worked out pretty good. I might consider it doing it more often. Definitely doesn't take much time to do it all at once and it gets it done and out of the way for that meal!

My Laundry/Freezer Room

I jumped up and down I was so happy when we finally got this done!

When we moved into this house and bought our washer and dryer we found out
AFTER it had been delivered that my plug for the dryer was to far away to be able
to stack my washer and dryer. So when we bought our freezer it had to sit in out dining
room until we were able to get someone out to fix it.

But finally its moved! I'm LOVING IT! My dining room has my freezer out of it and
my washer and dryer are stacked! Looks awesome and I'm Happy!!!! :-D

Looks like Rain!

It's a lazy day here!
Well, only because my house is clean and not much on my list of things to do.

I could do a ton of baking but I really don't feel like it. I could scrub the already scrubbed bathrooms.... but I'm sitting here watching the Olympics and enjoying it! :-)
It's nice to have a day that is sooo slow and relaxing with nothing pressing that you HAVE
to get done.

And its about to rain! What could be better! I loveeee the rain! The smell, and the green grass it
gives us!

So, as I sit here enjoying my day I hope you have a great day to! Share

Cleaning and storing the Leftovers...

Well today I'm back to feeling better after a long weekend of yard sale and go go go! :-)
So I am ready to tackle the room the has all the left overs from our yard sale. It has a lot
of empty boxes, a thing of clothes, books, and some stockpile leftovers.

We donated ALOT of the leftover stuff to our local goodwill but we also saved some stuff that we knew might sell becuase it looks like we are going to be helping my husbands grandma to clear out her home and have a yard sell for her in town in June. So we will be bringing all that we had left and saved over there. In town we will get ALOT of traffic so that will be cool.

We have a lot to do to get ready for as we are going to be cleaning out alot! But it will be fun as us girls are gonna go at it! :-D

So Im gonna get all my room cleaned out and in boxes and ready for her yard sale and so my room looks much cleaner! Yeah!

UPDATE***
Took me about an hour and its all boxed and clean. Yeah!
My desk is all cleaned off and back to normal again! And got all my beauticontrol
stuff in containers. Much better!
Very clean! :-)
I found a box of my books I had been missing to! It was stored behind the dresser!
Yah yah!!!

Get coupons ready for shopping tomorrow.... and a list of other to-do things on my list! :-D

I will enjoy everything around me that God has given me and take care of it!
