LOL!!!
I got the biggest kick out of a call I just made.

I called Walgreen's to see what the status of my rebate and spa certificates for this last month was because it hadn't showed up online yet. And I found out that they had been sent in the mail on the 4th of this month. Not bad... so I commented to the lady I was talking with at Walgreen's " cool that means I will get them sometime this week" and she paused for a moment... and said...
"well.....you might not get them for 3-4 weeks"
HUH? First class mail takes the max sometimes 7 days....
she said "well.. what they do is... put the rebates in brown bags, on the back of a truck, and send them to the post office several times a day, and they have to resort it there so it takes some time...."

LOL

Wow...

I probably have my money on my gift card from Walgreen's already posted which is why you should ALSO go this route and not opt for a check rebate from them... but I am getting my spa certificates snail mail so...
Oh well... have to wait a bit longer.
:-D
tis' funny though!

Hi Nichole!
I got your site from a friend of mine, Sarah Dodson. Anyway, I had a question about the Walgreens deals. Did you have to sign up for anything to start getting the discounts or is it a matter of racking up points?
Thanks so much!

Hey Laura,
For Walgreen's no you don't have to sign up for anything but they do have a thing called Easysaver Rebates.
It is not as complex as it might sound and once you get the hang of it its GREAT!!!
The more I've shopped there, the better I've gotten at getting lots of groceries for a few dollars or less. Same for CVS although with CVS you do have to get a membership card which is free and easy.

Besides just the normal store sale, Walgreens has three different types of deals to take advantage of:

Rebate Booklet - This is most commonly known to most deal shoppers: The Walgreens EasySaver catalog. These are usually located next to the weekly store flier displays at your local store. You'll want to make sure and grab one on your next shopping trip. The monthly EasySaver catalog usually includes a few free after rebate items for the month and also a number of other rebates they are offering for the month. Some of the items listed in the booklet which are not free after rebate at their normal price will usually go on sale one week during the month and will then be free after rebate at the sale price. In order to take advantage of the rebate deals, you'll need to go to the store and buy the items listed, paying out of pocket. Then, you'll fill out the simple rebate form and send it in along with your receipt with the price you paid circled.

You can choose to have the rebate sent back to you in the form of a check or a gift card. Unless you are not planning on shopping at Walgreens more than one time, you should always choose to have your rebate put on a gift card. Why? Because you get 10% extra for choosing a gift card so this will usually cover the cost of the stamp to send in the rebate, plus any tax you paid on the items.
It usually takes around 4-6 weeks for your first rebate to be processed and for you to receive your gift card. Once you have the gift card and just need them to recharge it, it normally takes 2-3 weeks. They'll send you a postcard saying your rebate $$ have been added to your gift card. And you can also log onto their website at any time to check on the status of your rebate.
It really is easy...
And with the all that I stack coupons and always wait till the store has the ROCK BOTTOM price for the item. Which is when you stock pile! Someday I will take a pic of my Stock pile pantry for all you blog readers to see... Quite impressive if I may say so myself! :D
Also, if you want some info that is REALLy good on Walgreens and CVS Savings visit these links. They explain alot and really help!

I also am part of a grocery thing called The Grocery Game...
It does help for those who don't have the spare time to sit down and figure out sales and coupons, but I am almost to the point in which I don't need it. YAH!
Email me at nicholejordanblog@yahoo.com if you need some more info! I would love to help!
