Carlsbad Caverns

Wow, Carlsbad Caverns was COOL! Not only in the awesome way but in the IT was VERY cold down there! 56 degrees they said today in them! It was moist and smelt SO GOOD!

We took the self guided tour and it took us about an hour and a half to walk the the cavern. It was AWESOME. We opted not to have the little speaker things to take with us because we didn't need to be told over and over that it took millions and millions of years to create the Caverns and all the (um how do you spell them?) stalagmite's and such.... But they were awesome and its so cool to see such wonderfull handwork of our Creator God. I can't imagine being the first one to come across something like that. WOW!!!

We are back on the road again with a few small stops (see below) and this evening we are staying the night in Flagstaff, AZ. We have a long day of driving ahead of us. :-) But its turning into some nicer landscape the futher we go!
We are on our way to go thru Roswell, NM becuase I guess hubs thinks its great fun??? I not being any sort of sci-fi person WHATSOEVER have NO idea what this town is untill I looked it up as hubby keeps laughing when I asked..... sigh.... So check it out here if you have no idea what it is famous for either. (Leave comment telling me if you had to find out what it was or if you knew!)

Oh gosh yes I would go there too! I was obsessed with the TV show Roswell on the WB. It had Katherine Heigl and it came on I think I was about 14 at the time when it started? HAVE FUN!!! (Would love to see some pics from there!) I can't believe you didn't know. . . I must be more of a geek than I think I am? :P

I have driven through Roswell before, however, not desiring to see anything it offers but just because it was on the road I had to go on to get where I was going... I don't think I have ever rolled my eyes so much in my life! Your trip looks fun, thanks for the traveling updates.

Beth,
We hung out too much as kids for you not to have found out about Roswell... :P

Geeky pics will be posted later. Nothing too outlandish, the festival doesn't start till tomorrow because apparently, the UFO crashed on July 7th, and we almost got there for the anniversary. Which was TOTALLY not on my list of things to do in my life!

Denise,
I rolled my eyes too

I was hoping to see at least one stormtrooper, or a person with Spock ears...

Beautiful pictures!! I always find it so humbling to come across things like this with such intricate beauty. I don't blame you for saying no to the speakers. My God, magnificent as He is, created this wonderful things! Don't even try to tell me that they happened over the course of millions and millions of years! Okay, sorry for the tangent... Anyway, enjoying your pictures!
