HELP ME

I have ants AGAIN, only this time the have come back with a vengeance!!!!!!!!!!!

I woke up yesterday to ants in my kitchen.... and not just a few... ALOT!

Before I had them in my entry way and it was not alot of them... I would vacuum them up,
put vinegar down, and then put dish soap on the outside where they where coming in. And it stopped them! But not this seems not to be working for my kitchen. It seems that the ant mound
that has made its way into my house from a different place is a determined colony!!!!

I think I might have to resort to putting a chemical around my house that will kill them and keep them from even THINKING of entering.... but hope to not have to resort to that.. the smell and all... blah... And my hubby is gone for a few days so he is not home to do it and I don't think I should get into that stuff myself. EWE.

So, does anyone have any AWESOMELY GOOD ANT killing thoughts? :-)

Cries for help before ants decide to completely invade my home!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, it makes a bit of a mess, but I've found that laying cinnamon down where they are coming in (inside and out) and along their path will stop them. Something about the cinnamon burns an ant and it keeps them away. Best of luck!

Ditto to the Terro, it was well worth any expense. We got rid of the black ants in my office after 2 traps & now we are working on the little guys.

Oh I cant even explain my pure disgust for ants...atleast in my house...lol

I havent tried this myself but its supposed to work as well. Mix boric acid powder and table sugar 50-50 in with some water. Put that mixture in the path of the ants so they will eat it. They'll take the mixture back to their home and well spread it around to their ant friends. Boric acid is toxic to ants but safe, in low quantities, for people and pets.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon of Boric Acid
1 tsp of Sugar
4 oz water
Cotton Balls

Mix Boric Acid and Sugar in a bowl. This can be poured over a cotton wad in a small dish or bottle cap. Keep this from drying out for continued effectiveness. Place Cotton balls in path of ants.

Hope that maybe helps you out some.

I haven't tried this since I found it after my ant infestation but the woman who uses it says it works wonders! And it's not poisionous which is a weight off my mind, poison in the kitchen makes me nervous.
You just fill a squirt bottle with a little water, a splash of rubbing alcohol, and a few drops of peppermint oil and spray wherever you've seen ants!
What I used for mine was cinnamon (which worked but they found other routes in the house) and when I did see them I'd spray them with Clorox natural all-purpose cleaner. It killed (drowned) the ants and then cleaned my counters!
Good luck!

I got this recommendation from my mother-in-law in an e-mail previously.
Get Rid of Ants -- Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

I use Equal. Ants are attracted to it, but can't digest it, so it kills them. When you have about an inch of juice left, put 5 equal packets in the juice, fill with water - shake and pour around the perimeter of your house or directly on ant hills.
