Family Hot Sauce

I got this handy kitchen tool for Christmas! Which I have been drooling over for some time now!
Once I'm back on my feet from morning sickness you can bet this baby is gonna be well used.

A family Favourite that will put it to well use!!!

Hot Sauce

Process In food processor:
¼ SMALL onion
2 garlic cloves (or more if you would like)
4 to 6 Serrano peppers – start with 4, taste test sauce once complete, add more peppers if want. DURING A DROUGHT PEPPERS ARE HOTTER; START WITH ONLY 1 PEPPER. - Like during 2006 & 2007.
1 sprig cilantro - optional (I put lots more says mom)
½ Bell pepper
Pour/scrape into serving bowl.
Open a 28 oz can of HEB canned tomatoes. Pour liquid into the serving bowl. Process the tomatoes in food processor, add to serving bowl. I use the HEB brand because other brands make for too much tomato.
Salt & lightly Pepper to taste.
Mix.
Taste test in case you need more peppers.
Serve immediately or cool in refrigerator.
Options: You can use fresh jalapeƱos instead of fresh Serrano peppers.
You can use canned or bottled jalapenos if you do not have fresh, but fresh tastes better.

My husbands mother makes this all the time and its loved by everyone. :-)
Its been passed through out the family. Love family recipes! Share

I didn't know that peppers during droughts were hotter, that's interesting! I'm terribly jealous of your new Cuisinart, I've been lusting after one for ages!
