Cloth Diapers!

A few weeks ago I had put out a post about needing some help with info on Cloth Diapers. Well you all sure stepped in and helped me to decide what kind of diaper I wanted to use on our little ones bum! :-D

I settled for the FuzziBunz as I really like all the features on them. I had been leaning towards BumGenuis till I saw a video on youtube on how the "one size" diaper actually work. And they seemed like a HUGE pad of diaper for a little one. The snaps on them just snap to make it smaller but leave a very bulky padding on the kiddo that I didn't like.

The FuzziBunz diaper was the most like what I was looking for in a cloth diaper. It has adjustable elastic legs for a tighter fitting instead of all the snaps and adjusts for a 7-35 lbs baby. The outside of the diapers feel SO NICE! No plastic yucky feel! They have a nice pocket for the inserts and a fleece protector to keep the baby from gettin rashes from being wet.

I ended up being able to order the first two diapers thru Amazon.com for VERY cheap. I had some gift cards saved up from Swagbucks.com and with a rebate for signing up with Amazon.com I ended up spending a grand total of $2.77 for the two diapers! Not bad considering they are $18.99 normally plus shipping! I am saving up more gift cards to be able to get my set of diapers thru swagbucks.com Gotta love that site!

I LOVE them! They are SO CUTE! And were just like they described on the site. I am happy with my choice of diaper for baby.

Yay for more cloth diapered babes! I have found that Bum Genius is just right for us, even on my very petite baby. You can see her as a newborn in the BG, and a day's worth of cloth changes at 6 months here:

The Bum Genius has a small stuffer for newborns, so it's not quite as bulky as you might imagine.

It's good to have a few varieties on hand since every baby is shaped a little differently, and what works well on a skinny, tall baby won't work as well on a short, chubby baby. :) Good luck!

The best way to clean cloth diapers is to pre-rinse them off in the toilet using a Bathroom Bidet Sprayer. So convenient and if you are trying to help the environment (and your pocket book) you can give it a double whammy by virtually eliminating toilet paper use, at the same time as you benefit from using it on the diapers, by using it on yourself. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off" Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com they come in an inexpensive kit and can be installed without a plumber. And after using one of these you won't know how you lasted all those years with wadded up handfuls of toilet paper. Now we're talking green and helping the environment without any pain.

Wow! That's a great deal on cloth diapers--way to go! We've used FB for almost four years now and they are just now getting to the end of their life span.

@ Jeff: I love my diaper sprayer! Well, actually I'm in need of a new one since my old one died after some hard core use. But, I tried it as a bidet sprayer and, um, shoot! That thing was COLD! (Since it's hooked up to the toilet and only sprays cold water.) LOL. That didn't work for me. Besides, wouldn't you still use TP wiping yourself dry?

I'm glad to see this post! I'm having a baby this summer, and I want to use cloth diapers. And the Fuzzi Bunz one size is the one I wanted to try out first. They do look really cute! :)
