Putting up Meat

Last week when I went grocery shopping I FINALLY found some good deals on meat! I was SO HAPPY! In months I hadn't had great deals on any type of meat and when your not eating a ton of it that's all fine and dandy but when out diet changed and we eat a Meat, Whole Grain, and Veggie and or Fruit for dinner... kinda makes it expensive to buy that much meat!

Here's a run down of what I bought that was on a good sale:
2 Family packages of Fajita Chicken meat for $1.00 a lb = 9 lbs total
3 Family packages of Split Chicken Breast for $0.88 a lb = 13 1/2 lbs total

It came out to about 22 1/2 lbs of meat. But they all came in family packages which we won't use in one sitting.
So I split the Fajita meat right away into reg meal size which made about 5 bags of meat.
I froze the chicken breasts for later as they were already frozen solid and I was to tired to deal with it that night. :-)

So today I had set them out and finally got around to boiling it and putting it all away for meals later. I cooked up 2 of the packages of chicken breasts and just split the other package up for other meals with whole chicken breasts. I got 6 bags of 2 cups ea. of the chicken and 7 bags of chicken broth.

Will be nice later to pull already cooked meat out of the freezer! And a nice bonus that I got 13 meals out of all that meat! And even better? It will cost about $1.60 EACH meal for meat! I'm happy! :-D Share

Pictures of cleaned out Babies Room!

This Saturday while hubs was cleaning out his office I got started on cleaning out all the stuff I had in the closet and room of the baby’s room! I got a ton done and all that is in there (for the most part) is baby stuff!

This is the view when you look in from the door. Where that dresser is in the right corner will be the crib and the dresser will move to the left side of the room on the other side of the hope chest. (Yes the sewing machine is part of the not baby items in room. I can't lift it! It weighs a ton as its OLD! So Rach COME GET IT! hehehe :-D ) And that tote is FULL of baby girl clothes from the twins (my friends twins that is)! Hoping for a girl... lol

That shelf will have bins on it for diapers and other baby items! And I already have a baby swing also! WOhoo!

And the EMPTY closet!!! It had stuff in it that I either got rid of or put in a more useful place. The crib is sitting in there waiting to be put up also.

Once we find out what baby is I am going to make the crib stuff. I have looked and looked a lot of placed and have not found what I want for a boy or a girl so I decided to go ahead and make it. So this crib skirt will go perfectly with the boy or girl décor I go with! To Cute!

Call me crazy...

But I had a dream last night that made me think its time to get going on being prepared for this baby!!!

In my dream... we had our baby (btw it was girl... is that a sign??? lol) and we had gone to a get together and when we got there I realized we had NOTHING for our child!!! No diapers, no clothes, NOTHING! And somehow I had nothing at home either... like I wasn't ready for baby! It was interesting to say the least... considering I don't hardly dream! :-D

I need to get in gear and start thinking and planning on getting ready for this baby! Because I sure don't want it to go without diapers or clothes! Poor naked baby... hehe

And since I'm an organized planner weirdo I'm gonna set about making a list of things to do in the coming weeks so I don't have to cram in the weeks right before baby is born!

What have you done in preparing for your baby? Here are a few things that come to my mind when I think about getting ready.

I know I want to have meals in freezer for ease after baby is born. I know we will get a good amount of days worth of meals from our church and family because they are awesome and do that for you! But after that I will want easy food (but food I can eat for my diet becuase even after baby is born I'm not sure what my body will do once nursing....) for us to get back on our feet with. Lots of sleepless nights and groggy days that don't make making food to easy!

I want to have a good amount of disposable diapers on hand and have bought cloth diapers for baby to use at home. I think I am going to go the route of disposable diapers for a good few weeks and then once I get back on my feet using disposable only when we go out or when its necessary and the cloth diapers at home. Even though I can use coupons and sales to get diapers for a good deal usually it is still gonna cost money that I would rather use on other things for baby.

I need to clear out and figure out what I am doing to baby's room! I have a crib (Thanks to my friend who stored it for me all these years! I LOVE IT!) and other furniture that I will be using in that room I just need to get it all cleaned out and set up. Then of course once we know what baby will be in a good 6 weeks or so I will finish registering for baby and know what I want to decorate with!

Ack and my brain is spinning with things I need to do!!! Share

Scuz me as I sneeze...

I have a horrid case of allergies from ceder right now... My nose is so sore and red from blowing it, my head is in a tizzy, and I can NOT stop sneezing. Seems like I get over one thing and the next thing blows in and starts all over again.

But other than that I seem to be on the other side of morning sickness. It's nice, not having to throw up every time I eat ANYTHING! I am only getting sick once in awhile now.

I am still having to eat really healthy foods for my glucose sugar levels which is good on one hand because of COURSE its healthy but on the other hand.... it kinda stinks when ya can't eat a french fry or mashed potatoes! Can you tell I want potatoes? And it's expensive.... LOL But its seems to be doing good so I'm ok with it. That and I won't be gaining a ton of weight with the pregnancy since I'm eating so good. Kinda nice! I've only gained a few lbs and I'm 14 weeks now!!
I'm even wearing more maternity pants now because even though I've only put on a few lbs my stomach is starting to definitely not be the same. :-) My tops pretty much still all fit just fine though so that's nice.

If you would pray for a friend of ours from church. They had their little one at 27 weeks and hes in the Nicu right now. He's doing VERY well for being so early!! Pray that he gets strong and healthy. And that his parents would stay strong for this time he is going to be in the hospital. Share

Baby Love's Second Photo Shoot

Well, the US machine that this picture was takin is like top of the line WOW! My doctor has awesome technology and I LOVE IT! The baby was sooooo COOL! We saw little hands and fingers and toes!!!! And yes, my baby has a Pot Belly thing going on at the moment! My doctor said DESPITE my efforts to keep NOTHING down Baby is STILL getting it all! :-D I laughed. Everything is looking right on target and I got 4 weeks to see if my blood sugar starts to be more regular or I'm going in for an early glucose test. YUCK!
Baby is about 3 inches right now, right on target for being 13 weeks.

Pitter Patter makes me laugh...

So we got to hear the baby's heartbeat.

I don't know what is more fun, seeing baby or hearing baby.

At first it was hard for us to tell it apart.

Then the baby moved up right close for us to hear her/him.

Thank you baby!

And boy did I laugh... I laughed, it moved, she got heartbeat again,

Menu for this week

Well, looks like its time for me to start major menu planning again. The last few week weeks during the first trimester I was pretty much to tired and sick to care. :-) I'm feeling a little better, not sick as much. But having major problems with my blood sugar that need to be adjusted. No scary insulin shock/passing out episodes again. Back to eating major healthy food for this kiddo and my body. Meaning tons of whole wheat because I can't eat carbs unless hey are veggie like or major whole grain. It is sad because I do love my carbs but it what must be done. That and I need to eat ALOT more often than I was so I need to plan healthy snacks through the day.
So here we go:

2x Whole gain bagel and Scrabbled egg
2x Homemade granola with Homemade yogurt
1x Peanut butter banana smoothie with bagel

Lunches
1x Tuna Salad
1x Sandwhich w/ Fruit salad
1x Left overs from dinner
1x Cheese quesadillas on whole wheat torts.
1x Smoothie
