Well I'm getting back somewhat to doing more of the deals at Walgreen's and CVS. For awhile I was just doing enough to keep up a few ECB's and Walgreen's Gift card to pay for allergy meds and such... But I am getting more energy back now that I am 20 weeks preg so I am hoping to get some really good deals before baby is born! I sure hope to score lots of good baby diaper deals in the coming weeks. I also put a few more $$ into both CVS and Walgreen's than I normal would to get back to start to get back up where is was in getting money back.

20 weeks! Half way there!

I can not believe I am half way thru this pregnancy! In just 16-20 weeks, depending on how long this baby wants to stay in it's nice warm and cozy little home, we will be a family of 3. Kinda crazy how fast the time is going.

I love being pregnant! Yah, theres the not so cool moments. Like when I was so sick with morning sickness, or how I can no longer sleep on my stomach and sleeping on my back hurts but sleeping on my sides my arms from shoulders down fall DEAD ASLEEP.
But despite alot of those things and more, I still love being pregnant! When this baby kicks me or is wiggly around "swimming" as my niece calls it, I love it! Every once in a while when babe gets its foot in my bladder or groin I start pushing it around telling it to stop. :-) Hubs says the poor thing gets discipline already from its momma!

I guess I have been getting "braxton hicks" more and more recently. At first I wasn't sure what it was but after talking to a few peeps and looking it up I'm guessing that's what it is. My stomach would get hard as a rock and feel weird. It never hurts but its an odd feeling for sure.

About 5 more weeks till we find out what baby is! I am getting antsy to find out.... I wanna know so bad what this baby is!!! I have a feeling I know what it is but who knows! We will see!

Pretty much all my "normal" clothes now fit way to funny to wear.... I am needing to get a few more tops but I am having a VERY hard time finding things that fit correctly and are what I want. I went to a maternity store with my husband when we were in Houston and I tried on SO MANY things and NOTHING worked. I was so frustrated with maternity clothes. Hopefully I will be able to come across some good maternity clothes soon that aren't gonna cost me an arm and a leg or I don't know what I'm going to do.

From what they say about babies growth:
Baby weighs about 10.5-12.3 ounces now. Baby is also around 7 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel.
Baby is now practicing breathing on a regular basis and swallowing more these days, which is good practice for their digestive system. They also start producing meconium. YUCK! :-D
Your baby's skin is becoming more complex at the end of pregnancy week 20, forming different layers. The epidermis, or surface of your baby's skin now has four layers that contain ridges for fingertips. The layers that form in your baby's palms and feet will provide him with his own unique fingerprint later in life.

Tomorow I will get hubs to take a picture for 20 weeks and will post it later! :-D

Food for the Freezer - 2 types of Pigs n' Blanket

I have a list of things I am working on for meals and stuff for after baby is born and today I made up a batch of pigsnblanket and am about to start up a ton of breakfast pigsnblankets!

Homemade Biscuits
(from a 1933 Recipe)
Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
4 tablespoons butter or shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
about 3/4 cup milk
Sift Flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again. Cut in shortening or butter. (this is where I use my hands by rubbing the butter into the flour). Add milk gradually, stirring until soft dough is formed. Turn out on slightly floured board and lightly "knead" for 30 seconds, enough to shape. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with 2 inch floured biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased sheet in a 400 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits. You can also make tiny tea biscuits that are only 1 1/2 inches wide with a small cutter or glass bottom. These are great served with tea, jam or honey. Makes 24.

Once those are made instead of making them in to biscuits I will roll them and use them as dough to use as the blankets for breakfast sausage links.

Numo! And great to pop in the micro for a few seconds for quick numo breakfast!

I like the rodeo... alot... I guess growing up we went to a few to many rodeos and I ended up liking them.

This year we didn't get tickets to the actual rodeo or the concerts but I got to go to the grounds one day last week.

Just in case you hadn't heard here is some info on the way Valassis distributes the Red Plum to some larger cities!

This is affecting a lot of newspapers across major cities in the states of Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New jersey, Utah, Virginia, Washington DC, North Carolina, Maryland and Texas.

This is the press release about this:
“Starting in February, the RedPlum coupon booklet will now be delivered in Cleveland through consumers’ mailboxes along with their weekly grocery circulars and other savings and deals. By using direct mail, the RedPlum insert will now be able to reach almost twice as many Cleveland households as in the past. Cloth Baby Diapers

Have you use Cloth diapers on your kiddos?

I am looking or some insight to cloth diapers..... I have been looking at the BumGenius diapers as its the only one I have heard much if anything about.

I kinda have a few things that I want in the diapers.

-They need to be NON LEAKY! :-D
-I would like to find a one size fits all. I don't want to get lots of sizes and spend all that money and they only use them for a month or so!
-Easy to use.
-Don't stain.
-Not extremely expensive. (I am all for buying them off eBay or some other place for a cheaper price but I think I want them to be brand new.)
-I would like them to feel not like old' school diapers, as in the plastic feel.

So, if ya have any input please do tell!

I plan on using cloth diapers for the most part but also plan on using disposable diapers for outings, and the first month or two while we get use to having a baby!

Isn't it suppse to CLEAN dishes?

I ask you, isn't the purpose of a dishwasher to CLEAN dishes? Well I guess its time again to clean the dishwasher or something. It's leaving all my dishes with this filmy white stuff all over them. Not so nice when its job is to clean my dishes to make MY job a bit easier....

I thought it was caused by "powdered" dish washer cleaners. Nope

I thought it was cause I was not using a rinse agent. Nope, tried both vinegar and the expensive stuff.

I thought it was cause my dishes perhaps where going into the dishwasher "dirty" um yah... Nope

I guess its just my water or its just high time to clean the dishwasher again...

So today I am cleaning it out and hoping it will stop being so silly and do it's job and CLEAN my dished please! And in the mean time I have washed alot of the dishes in my cupboards today trying to get that stuff off. Now my glasses are clear again! Not milky white! :-D

In the mean time since I was washing all the cups my cupboard got cleaned out! Yes, I know that I have more coffee cups than glasses... what can I say.. I was raised on java! :-D

Hopefully they will stay clean and clear!

17.1 Week update

When I turned 17 weeks I told my husband I finally feel like I am getting somewhere! I don't feel like I'm just barely pregnant. If that makes any sense. :-) I guess its also that I am coming close the the 1/2 way mark.

I feel baby move ALOT! It kicks and does flips or SOMETHING. This child is very active, more so than I ever imagined! It was very cool when my husband was able to feel the baby kick him. Not something I was expecting yet.

I am getting more energy back but I think part of it is I am finally on some good Prenatal Vitamins. But its nice for sure. I'm not sleeping very good at night due to not sleeping on my stomach and just being uncomfortable sleeping on my side or back. I use to sleep like a ROCK through the night and I never woke up.... but now I'm awake every 1 hour or so. Not cool. I even use tons of pillows to make myself comfortable but they disappear in the night. Hopefully I will get somewhat use to it before to long.

Today I had another appt. and looks like everything is going just fine! I don't need the glucose test till 28-29 weeks she said as everything is looking ok so far! Just got to keep eating right!
Baby's heartbeat was strong and loud! Love hearing it!!!

I was very sad although when I asked her if I was going to get my US to see what baby is at my next appt in 4 weeks, I would be 21 weeks. And found out that I won't be getting it till 25 weeks which is another 8 weeks away!!!! I was very disappointed. Sigh... I'm so ready to find out what it is!!! But I guess we will be waiting another 8 weeks.

So baby is:
About 5 inches long from head to rump. They don't measure to head to feet till after 20 weeks as baby is so curled up they have a hard time telling from what I understand. So its a bit longer than 5 inches for its legs.
And about 5.3-7.0 ounces in weight.
Fine hair called lanugo is starting to appear.
Baby's fingerprints and toeprints are forming.
Baby's teeth beginning to form enamel.
Baby can move it's joints. (Um yah no WONDER its kickin me!)
Sweat glands are starting to develop.

One year ago...

I can hardly believe we have been in our house for one year! It seems like yesterday! So much has changed around here!

One year ago we signed papers and had the official go ahead to start moving in! The weekend was a busy one for sure with trying to last minute pack everything that wasn't in boxes already!
And the many many trips back and forth between the condo and the new house! But we got settled in pretty fast and me being me had everything out of boxes and where I wanted it to go pretty fast.

I am very thankfull for this house.
