Even on the rough days...

I love being this little guys mommy! Today was one of those rough days... I guess I could say more on him than me really. This morning he woke up, nursed and promptly threw up all he ate all over me! I know I needed a shower son but really? I'm still not sure why he got sick this morning... he ended up having a very low fever all day but I'm thinking that is related to his teeth that are coming in on the top. And when you touch them or anything else does he screams in pain. I hope they break thru SOON! He needs relief. Specialy since its all 4 of the top at once! Rough days...

Today the little man also turned 9 months! I'm amazed at how fast he changes and grows. He takes as many as 8 steps now and does alot more walking between things now. He LOVES daddy and it makes me laugh that he gets so excited when daddy walks in the door after work. Love it! Today since we stayed home from church not knowing what Joshua had hubs jumped on the chance to mow our very overgrown lawn. (We have had ALOT of rain!) Joshua watched him thru the glass door and wanted to be out with him SO BAD! I think he is going to be very much an outdoor boy! I got him a little pool Sat at a yard sale and can't wait to put it to use! He LOVES water!

Helping mom a bit with messing up the kitchen...

And such a BIG boy eating all by himself! He loves it! Makes messes for sure but mommy dosnt mind!

A little big sweater...

I love knitting! And one of the projects I just finished was another sweater for my little guy. It is no longer cool enough to wear them here but I figured I would get a head start on making him some for the next winter!

My friend Darcie gave me some yarn she didn't need and it was SO cuddly soft that I had to make a sweater out of it for Joshua! I foudna cute pattern and started it in a size 1 so it would be big enough for him come like Oct or so.

By the time I got it mostly done I was looking at it thinking, there is no way this is gonna be big enough for him then... :-( (Remember his first sweater I did for him? LOL) Well, I finnaly finished it today... :-) And it for sure will fit him this coming winter, not sure what I was thinking when I was making it! :-D Its just a BIT to big for him now...

Um Mom this is HUGE! I can't find my hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, on to the next project! :-) Share

New Gluten Free Bread Recipe!

I found another recipe for GF bread I wanted to try out, I found it off this site but changed it just a tad as I only had reg potato starch. ( And I can't WAIT to try that recipe for Dinner Crepes! Sounds so nummy!)

GF Bread
Makes 2 loaves

Mix up the following in a bowl:
2 cups GF brown rice flour
1 cup sweet rice flour
1 1/3 cup potato starch
2/3 cup tapioca starch + 4 tablespoons tapioca startch
5 teaspoons xanthan Gum
Mix up in Heavy duty mixer the following and let proof for a few mins:
5 tablespoons sugar
5 teaspoons yeast

2 cup warm water
Once yeast proofs add the rest of these items to your yeast:
1 1/2  teaspoon salt
4 large to extra large eggs
2 teaspoon rice or Heinz distilled white vinegar (corn based)
6 tablespoons oil

Mix in the dry ingredients with your electric mixer. Scrap the edges every so often. Mix for about five minutes on High. Place into 2 sprayed, oiled or greased non-stick 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Shape slightly with a rubber spatula. Let rise for 35-45 minutes.
Bake in a preheated 375˚ F oven for 20 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes more.

Eat fresh but after one day slice and freeze for later. GF bread tends to be crumbly so this helps with stopping that! Share

Re- using! and a bit of self promoting! :-D

Alittle over a week ago I was going thru my coupons, cutting, sorting, and trying to get back into it again... (It had been awhile since I had done anything with coupons! Sad I KNOW!)

Anyways, as I was putting coupons in my purse coupon holder I sadly realized it was falling to pieces! :-( I guess it shows that I DO use it, but now I needed a new one. Sigh... not that it was to bad, I could now get a COOL covered one off esty I thought! :-D   But then I started thinking about it... what if.... hmmm... my brain was turning!

I went looking in my material box to see if I had some scaps of material left over from any of my recent projects that I could use to cover my broken organizer! Oh the possibilities! Would my heavy duty machine be able to handle it? Would it work again since my coupons were falling out the bottom? Would it be like new????

So I set about cutting, trying to figure out the best way to do it...

and WAL-LA!

It turned out awesome! It's no longer losing my coupons, looks awesomely CHIC, and I didnt have to spend anything to redo it! How cool is THAT!

So, if your intrested, you can now check out my handmade Chic Grocery Coupon Organizer Holder Files that I have listed on Etsy!

Oh the possibilities!!!!!
:-D

Book Reveiw - Isaac Newton By Mitch Stokes

This reveiw is part of Thomas Nelson’s BookSneeze program.
Do you have a blog and like free books?
Then check them out here!

At first as I opened this book I thought I might have a very long dry read ahead of me, but I was acctualy surprised at the amount of information about Isaac Newton I did not know about!
Newton was a was an amazing scientist but also seemed to have a great faith and trust in God. He was truly given a great gift. I don't understand many things about science but this book was very insightfull. You see that Isaac Newton isn't just the guy who had an apple fall on his head that you hear about in school! He was a world famous scientist, mathematician, astronomer and through Newton's life he has changed the world and still continues to have an effect even long after his death.
In his own words, “To celebrate God for his eternity, immensity, omnisciency and omnipotence is indeed very pious and the duty of every creature…”
I am challenged and inspired in just reading the story of how God used this man.
So if you ever get a chance to pick up this book and read it! I would recommend this book to you!

It's yard sale season!!!!!

It's yard sale time!!!!!! I get so excited when yard sale season is in full swing!

Last weekend after I had been home all week my hubby went with me on Saturday yard saling! The key to a great yard sale day is to deffinatly have someone along with you so one can drive and one can navigate with gps!!! :D ussualy my sisnlaw drives and I yell TURN now!!! Haha. It's quite fun!
Well last week we hit a few good ones and scored lots of books and kids clothes. This weekend I was in town with my sisnlaw all day friday for some things so we ended up hitting a community yard sale. We didn't score a TON of stuff but we didnt find some kid toys and I found a few prices of teal melmac that matches my Pyrex! Love it! Now I have cute little bowls for Joshua to use!!! :D will be on the look out for more of that!

Today I was home without a car still and hubby was at work so I decided to strap my little guy in my carrier and head out walking to see what I could find in my neighborhood.
It was a beautiful day so it was a nice walk. We hit three sales and the frat wasn't anything much. The secon. I found a few kids clothes for 25 cents. And the last one had some nice kids stuff I would of got but she thought her stuff was worth WAY more than it was.... It kind of bugs me when people try to charge $5 bucks for a shirt at a YARD sale! I could did stuff new for that!!! Lol. So I didn't get anything from her. Her loss. Oh well!

I ended up walking for about am hour and a half... Carrying a 21 lb baby. Lol. I'm kinda sore! But it was fun!

Next weekend I'm helping a friend again with her yardsale. Fun! Yah for yard sales!

Helping mommy clean!

My little helper clearing out kitchen cabinets! We got it done pretty fast! The only one that was really bad was the Tupperware one.... As you can see! Crazy. Share

Clearing out closests

Yesterday I spent awhile clearing out my closest and dresser. I pulled out lots of things I havnt worn in forever (and I don't have THAT) many clothes. (I tend to just wear my favs over and over haha). I cleared out quite alot! I ended up with a round basket full of shoes! And then another basket full of clothes. My dresser now fits all my clothes quite nicely with room to spare! So nice not have to jam the drawer shut! Haha. And I put away all my winter clothes to. We no longer need those here in south Texas!!!!

Today when I get a chance I'm going to clean out my kitchen cabinets. Not sure if I should attempt that while Joshua is up! He already loves to take thins out and play with them! I had to put those huge headband rubberbands around a few cabinets to keep him put of them! :D He will think he's in heaven if I let him go thru everything with me! Share

Cleaning out his toys!

Today I switched out alot of Joshua baby toys for more of his "big" boy toys. He hasn't played with alot of the rattles and more baby things in quite awhile so I figured it was time to put them away and stop cluttering his toy box up! He's enjoying playing with all his cool wooden toys and such that he hasn't seen before! Fun fun!

Doing any cleaning out for spring? I'm hoping to go thru the house this week room by room and pull out stuff we no longer need or is just causing clutter we don't need! We hope to possibly sell our house this month with the tax rebate people are trying to buy something to get in on it! We have a possibilty of a sale so we are just waiting to see if it goes thru or if someone else comes along! And I'm helping a freind have another yard sale since her last one was rained out (even though she dis GREAT still) and I can get ride of whatever I come up with! If we do mice packing would be a bit easier! :D Share
